Morro dos Anjos occupies a pleasant, secluded, elevated site, near to the coast and to the fishing port of Olhão. Both inside and out, the house is equipped to a high standard so that you will want for nothing in this peaceful hideaway. Whether relaxing by the pool, playing petanque with a sundowner, sunbathing on the roof terrace or simply gazing through the almond trees to the sea beyond, Morro dos Anjos makes a great place for family and friends to kick-back and enjoy time together.

Prices are in pounds Sterling (GBP) for the property per week, regardless of the number of people (maximum 7).

Morro dos Anjos has been renovated in a traditional style and to a high standard throughout, to provide a charming house that is comfortable at any time of the year.

There are four bedrooms sleeping up to seven people. The principle bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower/bath and double sinks. There is a single bedroom with en-suite shower room with walk-in shower. At the other end of the house are two further bedrooms sharing a bathroom with walk-in shower and double sinks. One of these bedrooms has a double bed and patio doors opening onto the terrace just above the pool. The fourth bedroom has twin beds and patio doors opening onto the front terrace. All bedrooms features built-in wardrobes with traditional Moorish doors.

In the centre of the house there is a spacious lounge and an even more spacious dining and kitchen area. The lounge is equipped with an open fire for cosy evenings off-season and satellite TV with free-to-air English stations. It has patio doors opening out onto the front terrace.

The kitchen is fully fitted and fully equipped for self-catering in style. It is separated from the dining area by a breakfast bar and has patio doors opening out onto the front terrace. The large dining area has table and chairs for seven and a separate WC with hand basin. There is access to the rear terrace and walled garden via large patio doors.

Additionally, there is a large utility room with a washing machine and storage space for suit cases and bags.

What outside spaces and facilities are there ?

The house offers lots of outside options making it ideal for outdoor living in the Algarve climate. In front of the house is a roofed - and so shaded - area for dining and relaxing, ideal during the summer heat. There are newly landscaped gardens to the front and east of the house, containing a small games area for playing petanque (boule), badminton or volley ball. The pool - surrounded by terraces and flower beds - is 10 x 5 meters and has a long submerged bench with jacuzzi jets at the shallow end. To the rear of the house is a large terrace which is always partly shaded and which may also be used for dining. Adjoining this terrace is a 'wild' garden with old stone walls. On the west side of the house, steps lead you up to a long roof terrace which is ideal for private sunbathing during the day and star gazing at night. There is a shaded car port with space for two cars.

On which day(s) can we arrive/leave ?

Change-over days are Wednesdays in season. Out of season, we are flexible. check-in time is 15.00 hrs. Check out time is 11.00 hrs.

For how long can we stay ?

The minimum stay is 7 nights, though we think that you will want to stay for two weeks.

How close are the nearest food shops ?

The nearest food shops are at Olhão, a ten minute drive away. Here, you are spoilt for choice of good supermarkets and great daily fresh produce markets. Olhão is famous for its fish and sea food, which can be bought at the market and from a host of small sea-front stores. It is also famous for its Saturday food market where the stalls cover the quayside....you won't go hungry staying here !

How close is the nearest restaurant ?

There is a good local restaurant a five minute drive down the road offering all the Portuguese dishes. Just five minutes further on in Olhão, there is a host of restaurants, many of which specialise in the local fish and sea food.

How close is the nearest beach ?

The nearest beaches are at Fuzeta (ten minute drive, five minute boat ride). Otherwise, explore the beaches accessible by ferry from Olhão: Armona, Culatra and Farol. All are worth the trip.

What is there to do ?

Enjoy the pool or a game of petanque (great fun, everyone can play), badminton or volley ball. Explore the local area on foot. All of the ferry trips to the beaches from Olhão make great days out.

Do we need to hire a car ?

Yes. Morro dos Anjos is off the beaten track.

How far is the airport ?

Faro Airport is less than 30 minutes drive away.

Can we smoke in the house ?

No. Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside.

Casa Rosa is an old farm house that has been renovated and decorated with a tasteful blend of the old and the new. It is cool in summer, cosy in winter. 

It sleeps up to a maximum of six people in three bedrooms. There is one double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a second double bedroom, and a twin bedroom. There is a separate bathroom. There is a large ‘L’-shaped living area comprising lounge, dining room and kitchen. 

The house is very well equipped throughout. The kitchen has everything you will need for self-catering, including: hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle. The bright dining area seats up to six and looks out through French windows onto the garden and the outside dining table. The lounge is equipped with satellite television and an open fire for the winter. Also for the winter, there is gas heating throughout the house. There is a washing machine in the bathroom.

How big is the house ?

The interior floor area of the house is 1030 square feet / 96 square metres.

What outside spaces and facilities are there ?

Outside, the house has its own parking, gardens, and private pool. At the front of the house there is a huge terrace with panoramic views over the sea and surrounding area - at it's best at sunset. It is equipped with a table and benches for dining and a barbeque. Behind the house is a small hill with native pine trees. The house is not overlooked by any other houses so is the perfect place for those who value peace and privacy.

On which day(s) can we arrive/leave ?

Between April and October, change-over days are Fridays. Check-in time is 15:00 hrs and check out time 11.00 hrs. In the winter months, we are flexible on both days and times.

For how long can we stay ?

The minimum stay is 7 nights. Longer winter stays have discounted prices.

How close are the nearest food shops ?

The nearest food shops are at Luz de Tavira, 3 km away. There is a small daily fruit, veg and fish market, a good butcher's, a grocer's and a small supermarket. Larger supermarkets are at Moncarapacho (10 minutes drive away) and Tavira (15 minutes drive away).

How close is the nearest restaurant ?

There is a great local restaurant specializing in sea food less than five minutes walk away. Its incredibly popular with the Portuguese and with foreigners living locally, but is unknown to tourists. It serves good food at very reasonable prices.

How close is the nearest beach ?

The nearest beaches are at Fuzeta (ten minute drive), Barril (five minute drive), and St.Luzia (ten minute drive).

What is there to do ?

There are no organised activities near-by. However, with the lagoon and salt-marshes on your doorstep, its a great place for bird watching. Artists may also find fruitful motifs in the boats and people working along the shore, the local houses, and the landscape of the Ria Formosa. The area is mainly flat and is traversed by many dirt roads, making it suitable for walkers, runners and cyclists.

Do we need to hire a car ?

Yes.

How far is the airport ?

Casa Rosa is just a 20-30 minute drive from Faro airport.

Can we smoke in the house ?

No. Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside.

Is there anything else we should know about Casa Rosa ?

Casa Rosa has a tame cat called 'Missy' resident in the garden which we ask guests to feed (food is provided).
