Beautifully renovated old house with sea views and private pool.

Sleeps max 6 in 3 bedrooms.

nr.  TaviraFuzeta, Moncarapacho

Off-the beaten-track rating -

Privacy rating -

Casa Rosa sits on a low hill with views over the Ria Formosa Natural Park and out to sea. The water’s edge is just two minutes walk away – a shore dotted with small boats and rich with bird life. A further two minutes brings you to the local restaurant – hugely popular with Portuguese and foreign locals – and specialising in sea food.  It is a forgotten little back water which tourism, so far, has not touched. Its slow, peaceful rhythm, fresh sea breezes and wide-open spaces make it a wonderful getaway any time of the year.

Further information

What is the accommodation like ?                         Floorplan                       Facilities

Casa Rosa is an old farm house that has been renovated and decorated with a tasteful blend of the old and the new. It is cool in summer, cosy in winter.

It sleeps up to a maximum of six people in three bedrooms. There is one double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a second double bedroom, and a twin bedroom. There is a separate bathroom. There is a large ‘L’-shaped living area comprising lounge, dining room and kitchen.

The house is very well equipped throughout. The kitchen has everything you will need for self-catering, including: hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle. The bright dining area seats up to six and looks out through French windows onto the garden and the outside dining table. The lounge is equipped with satellite television and an open fire for the winter. Also for the winter, there is gas heating throughout the house. There is a washing machine in the bathroom.

How big is the house ?

The interior floor area of the house is 1030 square feet / 96 square metres.

What outside spaces and facilities are there ?

Outside, the house has its own parking, gardens, and private pool. At the front of the house there is a huge terrace with panoramic views over the sea and surrounding area - at it's best at sunset. It is equipped with a table and benches for dining and a barbeque. Behind the house is a small hill with native pine trees. The house is not overlooked by any other houses so is the perfect place for those who value peace and privacy.

On which day(s) can we arrive/leave ?

Between April and October, change-over days are Fridays. Check-in time is 15:00 hrs and check out time 11.00 hrs. In the winter months, we are flexible on both days and times.

For how long can we stay ?

The minimum stay is 7 nights. Longer winter stays have discounted prices.

How close are the nearest food shops ?

The nearest food shops are at Luz de Tavira, 3 km away. There is a small daily fruit, veg and fish market, a good butcher's, a grocer's and a small supermarket. Larger supermarkets are at Moncarapacho (10 minutes drive away) and Tavira (15 minutes drive away).

What is there to do ?

There are no organised activities near-by. However, with the lagoon and salt-marshes on your doorstep, its a great place for bird watching. Artists may also find fruitful motifs in the boats and people working along the shore, the local houses, and the landscape of the Ria Formosa. The area is mainly flat and is traversed by many dirt roads, making it suitable for walkers, runners and cyclists.
