Here is a real rural haven. Casa Ribeirinha is the only renovated cottage in this tiny hillside hamlet - so you will have the place all to yourselves. The only sounds around you are birdsong, the breeze, and - out of season - the sound of the stream running through the valley at the base of the hill. You can walk the valley up or down stream and return over the hills. You can breakfast in the sun on the east terrace and have cocktails in the sunset on the west terrace. If you want an experience in the real Algarvian countryside, come and stay at Casa Ribeirinha.

What is the accommodation like ?

Casa Ribeirinha is a traditional cottage that has been simply and tastefully restored throughout to maintain its original charm. In contrast, the furnishing throughout is all IKEA and modern. The main cottage has a lounge/dining room, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms with double beds (one en-suite to the bathroom). The annex has a further double bedroom and en-suite shower room. Its all low doors, small windows, odd angles and thoroughly charming.

How big is the house ?

The interior floor area of the house is 745 square feet / 69 square metres. The annex is 264 square feet / 24 square metres.

What outside spaces and facilities are there ?

On the east side of the house is a small 'breakfast' terrace overlooking the stream and hills and two small courtyard spaces partially enclosed within ruined stone walls. On the west side of the house, there is a covered, shaded terrace with dining table, a small barbeque and further stone terraces down to the hillside. The views are again over the stream valley and surrounding hills.

On which day(s) can we arrive/leave ?

Change-over day is Friday. Check-in is 16.00 and check-out is 11.00. Out of season, we can be flexible on both days and times.

For how long can we stay ?

The minimum stay is 7 nights, though we suggest that you will want to stay for longer.

How close are the nearest food shops ?

Fifteen minutes drive down the hill brings you to Tavira, with its great fresh food market, large supermarket and other food shops.

How close is the nearest restaurant ?

There are two local cafe/restaurants just 5 minutes drive away up the hill. Both are run by local families. The food is local Portugues faire that is best ordered in the morning or the day before. The many restaurants of Tavira , St Luzia, Cacela and Cabanas are a 10/15 minute drive away.

How close is the nearest beach ?

The nearest beaches are at , Tavira, Cabanas and Manta Rota, all about 15 minutes drive away.

What is there to do ?

Relax, unwind, look at the view, read a book, open another bottle of vinho verde, walk the valley north, walk the valley south, spot the bee-eaters, Golden Oriels, Hoopoes and Iberian Magpies, enjoy each other's company. This is a place to get away from it all, so do.

Yes.

How far is the airport ?

Casa Ribeirinha is about a 45 minute drive from Faro airport.

Can we smoke in the house ?

No. Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside.
