'Cerro das Ondas' is in the countryside in the centre of a 5000m2 plot. The house is surrounded by the olive, carob and fig trees typical of the area. You are not overlooked by any other houses. Inside, both the house and cottage have been restored to retain traditional features and yet provide all modern comforts. The house has air conditioning for the summer, heating for the winter. There is a private pool of 9 x 4 m with sun and shade terraces and a private petânque (boule) pitch.

Cerro das Ondas is an old farm house with adjacent cottage that has been renovated and decorated with a tasteful blend of the old and the new. It is a very spacious property (250m2) ideal for gatherings of family or friends.

The house - The main house sleeps four. There is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom with en-suite bath room (with jacuzzi bath). There is a massive lounge with leather sofas for six people around a fire place, satellite TV and a coffee table made from an old agricultural implement. There is also space for indoor dining for ten with an old alter serving as buffet board. There is a separate dining room seating four to six people adjacent to the modern kitchen. The kitchen if fully-equipped for great catering with: four ring gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and all the crockery, glassware, cutlery and utensils you will need. French windows open onto a shaded outdoor eating area. The house has a huge roof terrace which provides completely private sun-bathing in the winter months, wonderful starry nights in the summer months and rapid clothes drying (there is a washing machine in the kitchen). The house has air-conditioning/heating throughout, to keep you comfortable all year round.

The cottage - sleeps four. There is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom with shower room adjacent. There is a two level lounge area with big glass doors opening out onto a shaded area beneath huge old carob trees. There is a bed in the lounge made up as  sofa, but can be used as a bed if required. The room in which the old bread oven is situated is equipped with table and benches.

How big is the house ?

The interior floor area of the house is 1421 square feet / 132 square meters. The interior floor area of the cottage is 882 square feet / 82 square meters.

What outside spaces and facilities are there ?

The private pool is situated at the front of the house and cottage, surrounded by a terrace equipped with sunbeds and a shaded table, a barbeque and seating area for outside dining. There is your own private petânque (boule) pitch, always great fun with family or friends. There is a shaded parking area. At the rear of the kitchen there is a shaded eating area with 'pub-style' bench. There is extensive land around the house which is flat and so suitable for many games.

On which day(s) can we arrive/leave ?

Between April and October, change-over days are Tuesdays. Check-in time is 16:00 hrs and check out time 11.00 hrs. In the winter months, we are flexible on both days and times.

For how long can we stay ?

The minimum stay is 7 nights.

How close are the nearest food shops ?

The nearest food shops are at Moncarapacho, a ten minute drive away. There are two good small supermarkets and several other small food shops. There is a small daily market. 

How close is the nearest restaurant ?

There is local restaurant and cafe just 1 km down the road, which serves both lunches and dinners.

How close is the nearest beach ?

The nearest beach is at Fuzeta, a 15 minute drive away.

What is there to do ?

Cerro das Ondas is off the beaten track so there are no organised activities near-by. The property will suit those able to entertain themselves. It will appeal to nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and those just happy to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Do we need to hire a car ?

Yes. Cerro das Ondas is in the country, so a car is essential.

How far is the airport ?

Faro airport is only about 20 minutes drive away.

Can we smoke in the house ?

No. Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside.
