Casa Ceramista is a hilltop bungalow with panoramic views
of the coast from Cabanas to Vila Real.
Not over-looked by other houses, it makes a perfect and quiet hideaway.
The rear terraced area - with its raised plunge pool and complete
enclosure - is ideal for families with small children; its complete
privacy makes it ideal for couples. And although the un-populated Algarvian hills stretch for miles to the
north, to the south, it is just 7 km to the new golf courses at Monte Rei,
11 km to the town of Vila Nova de Cacela
and 13 km to the wonderful beach at Manta
Rota.

What is the accommodation like
?
Facilities
All the accommodation is on one floor. There is a double bedroom and a
twin bedroom. They share a bathroom with WC, washbasin, and bath with shower.
The main living area of the house is a large 'L'-shaped room containing two
seating areas, a dining area and the kitchen with breakfast bar. The kitchen is
fully equipped for self-catering, including a dishwasher. Doors open out from
the lounge areas to the shaded conservatory, open shaded area and the front
terrace - all of which have fabulous views down to the coast. There is a further
WC and shower in a small room off the rear-terrace.
What outside spaces and
facilities are there ?
There is a long, south-facing
terrace with panoramic views to the coast, with a shade area set back equipped
with sun loungers and dining table. There is also a long shaded terrace to the
west of the house, with a built in barbeque. To the rear of the house there is a
large terraced area where the raised plunge pool is situated. This area is
accessible from the kitchen and is completely enclosed by the house, by a fence
and gate, and by the land behind. This makes it entirely private and also very
safe for small children. The plunge pool is 5 m in length and roughly tear-drop
shaped. It is protected from the breeze to the north by clear panels. Adjacent
to the pool is a shaded seating area and there is ample room for sunbathing on
the sun-loungers. There is also a built-in barbeque. To the north of the house,
you have direct access to the miles and miles of hills. There is also a shaded
eastern terrace and there is plenty of space to park. All in all, the house has
a range of different outside spaces and facilities which makes it perfect for
fresh-air summer living.

Change over days are Saturdays.
Check-in is at 15.00 hrs and check-out 11.00 hrs.

The minimum stay is 7 nights. You
can stay for one, two or more weeks.
How close are the nearest food
shops ?
Fresh bread and fish arrive to the
village each day by van, and water, beer etc can be bought in the tiny village
shop and cafe. There is a good small supermarket
and a daily produce market five minutes drive away at Vila Nova de Cacela.
There is another small supermarket close by at Conceição de Tavira. There are larger supermarkets and many other food
shops 10 minutes drive away in Tavira.
How close is the nearest
restaurant ?
There is a local café/bar and
restaurant-on-request just a kilometer down the road. Otherwise, the nearest
restaurants are at Vila Nova de Cacela, 11
km away.
How close is the nearest beach ?
The nearest beach is at Manta
Rota, 13 km away.
What is there to do at Casa
Ceramista
?
Casa Ceramista is in the hills, so
you make your own entertainment. Its an ideal place to get away to, relax and
set your own not-too-strenuous agenda each day. You can walk in the hills directly from the house. There are great
beaches and
golf courses close by.
If you want to explore by car, its about equidistant from Tavira, Vila
Real and the Spanish border.
Do we need to hire a car
?
Yes. Casa Ceramista is off the
beaten track, so a car is essential.

airport ?
Casa Ceramista is about a 50 minute
drive from Faro airport.
