'Quinta do Arco' is a beautifully restored, large country house, situated in the foot hills. It is not overlooked by any other houses and enjoys complete privacy on the rear and pool terraces with views over the local countryside. Inside, the house is richly decorated and very comfortable throughout. It makes an ideal getaway for larger families or for two families sharing.

What is the accommodation like ? Floorplan Facilities

Quinta do Arco is very spacious and well equipped. The centre of the house is a large, open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area which opens out onto the rear terraces and garden. Partly double height, it is very airy and cool in the summer. Above the kitchen is a comfortable, mezzanine TV lounge with satellite TV and DVD player. The kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave and all the crockery and cutlery you will need. There is a small laundry room to the side with a washing machine.

The main bedroom opens off the lounge/dining area, up a few steps and through double Arabic doors. It is bright, spacious and comfortable, with a huge bed, reading chair and writing desk. French windows open out onto its own balcony with stepped access to the rear terrace. There is an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower.

The other three bedrooms are accessed via a corridor with its own comfy seating area. The double room and twin room share a bathroom opposite. The double room has a chaise-longue and window to the rear terrace and garden. The twin room has a charming writing desk and window also facing the garden. At the end of the corridor, you enter the second en-suite double bedroom, which has French windows out onto the rear terrace and stepped access to the pool.

How big is the house ?

The interior floor area of the house is 2443 square feet / 227 square meters.

What outside spaces and facilities are there ?

There is a private pool of 8 x 5 m with sun terraces all round and views over the surrounding countryside.

Outside the lounge/dining area is a shaded, covered terrace with dining table and corner seating area, both facing the ornamental fountain and overlooking the pool terrace. There is a well equipped, built-in barbeque.

At the front of the house, there is shaded parking space. The house is surrounded by mature and attractive gardens and then by the carob, olive and almond orchards typical of the area.

On which day(s) can we arrive/leave ?

Change-over days are Sundays. Check-in time is 16:00 hrs and check out time 11.00 hrs.

For how long can we stay ?

The minimum stay is 7 nights, and in season, bookings should be for whole weeks.

How close are the nearest food shops ?

The nearest food shops are five minutes drive down the road in St.Catarina.

How close is the nearest restaurant ?

The nearest restaurants are all a 10 or 15 minutes drive away.

How close is the nearest beach ?

The nearest beach is at Fuzeta, a 15 minute drive away.

What is there to do ?

Quinta do Arco is off the beaten track with no organised activities near-by. The property will suit those able to entertain themselves. It will appeal to nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and those just happy to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Do we need to hire a car ?

Yes. Quinta do Arco is in the country, so a car is essential.

How far is the airport ?

Faro airport is only about 30 minutes drive away.

Can we smoke in the house ?

No. Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside.
