Casa Al-baraka is a great private retreat up in the hills north of Tavira. From your doorstep you can explore the hidden valley of a stream which winds its way through the hills, its natural swimming pools and wildlife including terrapins and wild boar. You can walk the surrounding hills and visit the local viewpoint with views over the coast. Tavira itself is just a ten minute drive down hill, with its wealth of restaurants and cafes, historical attractions, great fresh food market and shops. Access to several of the eastern Algarve's wonderful blue-flag beaches is just another 5 minutes further on. A spacious, stylish modern villa with private pool, it makes for a great get-away for family or friends.

Prices are in euros for the property per week, regardless of the number of people (maximum 8).

Casa Al-baraka is spacious and stylish throughout. On the ground floor is a large, open-plan lounge, hall and dining area. The lounge has a huge leather sofa, satellite/sky TV and a wood burning fire for winter evenings. The dining area has dining for 8 people. Full-length glass doors open out on to the pool terrace from both lounge and dining areas. Adjacent to the dining area is a large fitted kitchen which is fully equipped for you to make the most of self-catering, including a five ring hob, large oven, microwave, and a dishwasher to help clear up afterwards. Also on the ground floor there is a twin bedroom, a bathroom and a shower room. 

On the first floor there are two further double bedrooms, also with full-length glass doors which lead out onto the large roof terrace with great views over the hills. There is also another shower room.

There is air-conditioning throughout the house, keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter. In winter, heat from the wood burning stove is also ducted to the upstairs bedrooms. 

How big is the house ?

The total interior floor area of the house is 1735 square feet / 161 square metres. The roof terrace is 465 square feet / 43 square metres.

What outside spaces and facilities are there ?

There are terraces outside all of the downstairs rooms. The large terrace to the west of the house contains the pool of approximately 10 x 5 metres. There is an outside dining area and a built-in barbeque.  Views are over the hills and the near-by hamlet. There is plenty of parking space.

On which day(s) can we arrive/leave ?

Change-over day can be any day other than Saturday.

For how long can we stay ?

The minimum stay is 7 nights.

How close are the nearest food shops ?

There is a local shop which has most basics only a five minutes walk away. Otherwise, the fresh food market and supermarkets of Tavira are just ten minutes drive down the hill.

How close is the nearest restaurant ?

There is a local cafe and lunch restaurant about 10 minutes walk up the hill. Otherwise, the many restaurants of Tavira are ten minutes drive down hill.

How close is the nearest beach ?

The nearest beaches are at Tavira (ten minute drive), Terra Estreita (ten minute drive), Barril (15 minute drive), and Cabanas (20 minute drive).

What is there to do ?

Outside the hottest weeks of summer, Casa Al-baraka is excellent for walking in the local hills and river valley. There is a local pottery and a specialist bonsai garden close by. Otherwise, you have the attractions of Tavira and the coast a short drive away. It will suit those people just wishing to get away to relax and who are happy to make their own entertainment.

How far is the airport ?

Casa Al-baraka is about a 45 minute drive from Faro airport.

Can we smoke in the house ?

No. Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside.
