Booking information - small print
When I submit my booking form, am I entering into a contract with eastoffaro.com ?
No. In submitting your booking form, you are making a request to book a particular property for particular dates.
How and when is my booking confirmed ?
We will confirm (or not) your booking in an email message to you. When we do so, we have entered into a contract with you. You then have to confirm your booking with us and enter into a contract with us by paying an initial 30% deposit within a week of receiving our confirmation.
Is my 30% initial deposit refundable if I cancel my booking ?
No. When you make your booking, you should also buy holiday insurance to cover you in case you have to cancel your booking with us.
When do I have to pay the balance for my holiday ?
You have to pay the remaining 70% balance for your holiday 2 months before the arrival date of your holiday.
What if I book my holiday less than 2 months before my arrival date ?
In this case, you have to pay the full amount within one week of receiving from us confirmation of your booking.
Is the 70% balance payment of my holiday refundable if I cancel ?
We will refund to you up to a maximum of 70% of the total value of your holiday if you cancel IF we are able to re-sell your dates. Thus, if you cancel several months before the arrival date of your holiday, there is a good chance that we will refund some or all of your 70%. If you cancel the week before arrival, it is unlikely that we will be able to refund any of your 70%. We therefore advise you to buy holiday insurance when you book your holiday to cover you in the event that you have to cancel your holiday. And we warn you that it does happen that people have to cancel their holidays with us every year, due to unforeseen illness or other problems.
What if eastoffaro.com cancels our holiday ?
In the unlikely event that we cancel your holiday, we will refund you all the money you have paid to us (see below). But again, we advise you to buy holiday insurance to cover other expenses of your holiday, such as air fares.
What if you can’t provide us with the holiday we have booked ?
In the rare event that we cannot provide you with the holiday you have booked, we will offer you one or several of the following choices, depending on the circumstances:
- We will offer you alternative accommodation for your dates of equal or higher standard with no extra cost to you and with your agreement
- (i) We will offer you your chosen accommodation with a partial refund to you and with your agreement
- (ii) We will offer you alternative accommodation for your dates of a lower standard with a partial refund to you and with your agreement
- (iii) If you do not agree with any of the above and wish to cancel your holiday, we will refund the money you have paid to us.
You are more secure booking with us at eastoffaro.com than booking directly with a property owner, as if something goes wrong – and sometimes it does – we can usually relocate you to equivalent or better accommodation. We ‘save’ several people each year who have been let down by private lettings.
You must also bear in mind that we make our living by making you happy and that we have a good reputation to maintain. Therefore, if something does go wrong, we will do all we can to put it right straight away and make sure you get the holiday you have booked – or its equivalent with which you are happy.
How do I know that my money is safe with you and that you are what you say you are ?
This is a good question which we sometimes get asked, and that in truth is difficult to answer. However, we hope that the following will help to put your mind at rest.
- (i) Partly, of course, when you have not holidayed with us before, it is a question of building trust; you trust us with your money in advance and we trust you not to wreck our houses.
- (ii) When we confirm your booking via email (and before you pay us any money) we send you all of our contact details. You can contact us any way you like, to see if we are here and see if you like the sound of us.
- (iii) www.eastoffaro.com is a trading name of Laranja Ltd, a UK registered holiday company nº 06049212. See www.companieshouse.gov.uk .
- (iv) Our UK accountants are TML Accountants Ltd, in Gosport, Hampshire. See www.tml-accountants.co.uk .
- (v) For more security, you can pay us by credit card via PayPal. That way, your money is protected by your credit card issuer and you are paying via PayPal’s secure portal.
- (vi) The fact that we have a commercial account with PayPal – the webs largest payment portal - means that we have satisfied their strict requirements to prove that we are a legitimate business and do what we say we do. See www.paypal.com .
- (vii) We also have a commercial account with Travelex – the world’s largest foreign exchange company – also showing that we have satisfied their strict requirements of accountability. See www.travelex.com .
Are there any hidden costs you have not told us about ?
No. The price we agree with you is the full cost of your accommodation for your holiday, including cleaning and all utilities.
Do you charge a deposit against damages ?
No. We trust you to tell us if you damage something and to cover the cost of repair/replacement, or to replace it yourself. If you let us down, you will not be welcome back, either with us or anyone else we tell about you.
