Description (Property Reference: 111) Villa Bons Ares occupies a privileged spot in the hills north of Tavira. On arriving, the first thing that will strike you is the silence - if you want some peace and quiet you will find it here in abundance. Then you'll see the fantastic panoramic sea views - from the house, from the terraces and from the pool - you are looking down the hills to Tavira and the sea beyond. It is isolated and has a special air of light and space that you won't want to leave.

What is the accommodation like ?

The house is built around the view, with all rooms looking out south-east to the sea through large, bright windows. It is arranged on three levels. At the entrance level, there are two bedrooms. One is a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and French windows opening onto its own balcony. The second has twin beds placed together and also French windows opening onto its own balcony. They share a bathroom with bath, hand basin and WC. Going up a level is the third bedroom with twin beds placed together, French windows to the upper terrace (with outside staircase to the pool terrace) and en-suite bathroom with bath, hand basin and WC. The is also a separate shower room on this level. On the ground floor level is the kitchen and lounge/dining room. The kitchen if fully equipped for self-catering and is a lovely bright room with French windows out onto the terrace. The lounge is equipped with Satellite TV and DVD/CD. There is a dining table for 6 people. Again, it is a lovely bright room with double French windows opening out onto the terrace. The house has air-conditioning throughout and was newly furnished in 2008 to a high standard.

What outside spaces and facilities are there ?

Each bedroom has its own terrace. On the ground level, a shaded terrace runs the length of the house. At the end is a pleasant shaded outside dining area with hardwood table and chairs and a gas barbeque. Steps lead down from the shade terrace onto the pool terrace with a 10m x 4m pool and sun loungers. Surrounding the house is a landscaped hillside garden which is fully fenced. You have panoramic views down to the coast from everywhere.

What is it like walking from the property ?

At Villa Bons Ares, you are up in the low hills north of Tavira. From your doorstep you can walk for miles in the silence, discovering hidden valleys, hill top views, small white hamlets, the bird life and, in spring, a wealth of wild flowers.

How close is the nearest beach ?

The nearest beaches are at Tavira, Cabanas and St Luzia, all about a 15 min drive plus a short boat ride away.

How close are the nearest food shops ?

The nearest food shops are in Tavira, a ten minute drive down the hill. Here, you are spoilt for choice of good supermarkets and a great daily fresh produce market.

How close are the nearest restaurants ?

The nearest restaurants are all in Tavira, where There is a huge choice, serving Portuguese and International cuisine, with many specialising in sea food.

How far is the nearest airport ?

Faro Airport is about 45 minutes drive away.

Do we need to hire a car ?

What is there to do ?

Villa Bons Ares is the perfect venue to relax and do nothing: read a book, swim in the pool, enjoy the view, walk in the silence of the hills. If the spirit moves you, roll down the hill and discover everything that Tavira has to offer you...or just stay by the pool

Are children welcome ?

Yes, they'll love the pool.

Are pets welcome ?

No, sorry.

Can we smoke in the property ?

No, sorry. Smoking is only outside and smokers have to take great care to dispose carefully of matches and cigarettes as the risk of causing fire is very high in the dry summer months.

Is there a minimum/maximum length of stay ?

The minimum stay is 7 nights, though you'll probably want to stay longer.

Are there any dangerous/safety features for small children ?

Entrance to the pool is at ground level with no fencing. The property is fully fenced and far from any busy roads. There are two flights of stairs inside and one outside the house.

Is there anything else I should know about the property ?

For guests who have stayed here before, Villa Bons Ares is the new name for Casa dos Bons Ares.
