We had a simply wonderful stay at Palm Tree Apartments. The apartment was perfectly equipped, spacious and tastefully furnished. The kitchen area had everything we needed including a welcoming pack of groceries for our arrival. Outside is a range of sitting places, a large clean swimming pool and a barbeque area with tiki bar. They had thought of everything ! We will certainly return for another holiday.

The apartment was superb - far better than we had expected. It was a fabulous size, extremely well equipped and beautifully kept inside and out - Gerrie and Wim have done a wonderful job with the whole property. The location was perfect for us although it was a shame that the walkable (and excellent) restaurant at Pinheiro was closed until the last night of our stay (family bereavement we think we translated correctly frm their notes). Anyway, we had a fabulous meal on our last night and it probably did us good driving out the other nights and staying off the wine !!
The directions and general information you provided were excellent so thanks for those. Picking up and returning the car was extremely straight forward so again, thanks for arranging that on our behalf.
All in all we had a lovely holiday and becasue we managed to get a bit burnt on day one we did loads of travelling about and found there was far more to the Algarve than just beaches and sun. What a shame we couldn't stay longer..

We got back last night. Usually we are ready to leave for home after two weeks but we left this time with regret. The accommodation was first class. It was well presented and the important things worked well ike a firm comfortable bed and a proper shower. Being new it didn't suffer the depressing cracks, scapes and scuffs that remind you why you want to leave. To be classed as five star it would probably need an oven, a grill and a dishwasher but at this year's price we had no complaint. The air con was marvellous. I liked the real wine glasses and proper crockery. The real star was the pool which is a great size and because there are only four apartments it´s little used. Many days we had it to ourselves. The pavilion offering shade is a genius idea. Wim and Gerrie were attentive but didn't get in the way at all. They were a very pleasant and polite presence and were reasuringly helpful with baby Hannah. We liked the fact it isn't a tourist area as such and the quinta was truely rural and quiet. You could float in the pool in virtual silence or listen to opera on the i-pod without being disturbed. A trip to Villa Moura in search of a boat trip was an eye-opener in comparison. We were grateful to escape back to our solitude. We have recommended Palm Tree Apartments to friends.

What is the accommodation like ?
All apartments are self-catering and are equipped and furnished in the same style and to the same high standard.
'Fig' and 'Almond' are both one bedroom apartments. The bedroom has a double bed and built-in wardrobe (the bed can be made up as two singles on request). There is a stylish shower room with hand-basin and WC. There is an open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering. The lounge is equipped with Satellite TV and DVD.
'Carob' is also a one bedroom apartment and can be rented as that. However, it does have a sofa bed in the lounge and so can also be rented for a family with one or two (small) children.
'Orange' is a two bedroom apartment, with one double and one twin bedroom and a larger bathroom than the other apartments.
What outside spaces and facilities are there ?
Each apartment has its own outside terrace area with table and chairs and sun umbrella. The four apartments share the fabulous pool area. The pool is 12m x 6m and is 1m - 2m deep, with steps entering the shallow end and ladder steps entering the deep end. There is a large sun terrace with sun loungers, a large shaded area with table and chairs and a pool-side shower. There is private parking for all guests. The gardens surrounding the house are for the enjoyment of all and are newly planted with ornamentals and fruit trees typical to the area.
How close is the nearest beach ?
The nearest beaches are at Fuzeta (10 minute drive), Barril (10 minute drive), and St Luzia (15 minute drive).
How close are the nearest food shops ?
The nearest food shops are at Luz de Tavira, Moncarapacho or Fuzeta, all about 4 km away. There is a wide choice of larger supermakets and bigger food markets at both Tavira and Olhão, each about 10 mins away by car.
How close are the nearest restaurants ?
There are two local restaurant each less than 5 mins drive away - or a good walk. One of these specialises in local sea food and is incredibly popular. There is a great choice of good restaurants in both Tavira and Olhão.
How far is the nearest airport ?
Palm Tree Apartments is about a 30 minute drive from Faro airport.
Do we need to hire a car ?
Yes. Palm Tree Apartments is in the country. See our car hire.
What is there to do ?
Palm Tree Apartments will suit those wishing to just kick back and relax, those looking for a base from which to explore the Eastern Algarve, and those interested in nature, walking or cycling. You can hire cycles, canoes and a motor boat from the Quinta.
Can we smoke in the property ?
No. Ash trays are provided for smoking outside.
Is there anything else I should know about the property ?
The Dutch couple that own Palm Tree Apartments also live on site in the first floor apartment. They have a friendly Jack Russell dog who is free to roam but is not allowed into the apartments. They will welcome you, answer any questions you may have, and otherwise leave you in peace.
For guests who have stayed here before, Palm Tree Apartments is the new name for Quinta das Flores.
